Description
Description | STROBE+ aims to promote the use of HSS as a robust, mature and cost efficient technology to meet the coming EU environmental regulations. STROBE + will disseminate new design guidance for high-strength steel (HSS), which has been developed over the last few years, primarily developed in RFCS-funded research (STROBE, HILONG, OPTIBRI, RUOSTE, HITUBES, HSS-SERF), to allow for its wider and more effective use in civil engineering structures. The project actions are mostly focused on providing material for design purposes, namely: - Preparation of a Design Manual for high-strength steel structures in English; - Preparation of a Guide on HSS fabrication for easy and secure manufacturing of HSS structures in English; - Development of software tools for everyday use by practitioners and students, in English; - - Webinars and workshops including the translation of the brochures and presentations in other 9 European Languages; STROBE + aims to accelerate the uptake of HSS use in steel construction from the current 5% to 12% after 10 years of the project implementation resulting in the following impacts: i) 5.57 MTn of CO2/year avoided in 2036 and 27.85 MTn of CO2 2031-2036), ii) 4,33 MTn of Steel saved in 2036 and 21,665 MTn of Steel 2031-2036), iii)626 M€/year avoided in 2036 and 3133 M€ (2031-2036) and iv) 1250 jobs generated in 10 years. New high skilled engineers, welders and others. |
