The 208.8km road project consists of 2-lane dual carriageway with service roads & walkways (within built up areas), bridges, underpasses, overpasses and interchanges.It runs close to the coast and links the national capital, Accra, to Sekondi-Takoradi, the capital of the Western Region where one of the two existing sea ports in the country is located. It includes a six lane dual carriageway with full access control for sections with high traffic and interchanges in highly trafficked intersections.The private sponsor will be responsible for the:a) design, financing, construction of new or expansion of existing traffic lanes and structures, such as interchanges and bridges;b) efficient operation and maintenance of the road, construction and operation of toll booths and collection of toll revenues; andc) extension of protection measures to prevent road closures due to obstructions on the roadway.
