Description | The Accra Marine Drive Project is a flagship 241-acre urban redevelopment initiative designed to transform Accra's coastline into a major tourism, commercial, and cultural destination. The project includes waterfront promenades, luxury hotels, shopping centres, cultural pavilions, a national amphitheatre, a public park dedicated to Ghana's independence forefathers, accessible beaches, an African Heritage Walk, a National Concert Hall, the Ghana National Museum of Contemporary Arts, hotels, restaurants, shopping malls, an aquarium, and other recreational centres. The redevelopment master plan was designed by architect Sir David Adjaye and his firm, Adjaye Associates. The project aims to position Accra as a leading tourism hub in West Africa and is expected to create over 150,000 jobs and attract over one million tourists annually when fully operational. |
