ACF Employment-Intensive Environmental Programme

The project includes employment-intensive measures (cash for work) in the waste sector. The project sponsor is the humanitarian non-governmental organization Action contre la Faim (ACF). The following employment-intensive measures are to be carried out as part of the project - Waste collection in public spaces (parks, local recreation areas, beaches) and on streets/paths - Waste sorting in local sorting plants - Small rehabilitation work in public spaces (parks, local recreation areas, beaches) and on streets/paths - Waste collection in informal tent settlements (ITS) These employment-intensive measures are accompanied by awareness-raising campaigns on environmental and health-related aspects of waste disposal. Geographically, the project focuses on around 20 communities in the Bekaa Valley and southern Lebanon.
