Achiras Wind Farm

The project entails the development and operation of a 48 MW wind farm located in Achiras, Province of Cordoba. The Achiras project includes also a 14-km transmission line. Project is being undertaken by Central Puerto and developed by CP Achiras SA. This is a greenfield project initiated on a BOO basis following a competitive tender process - 1.5 round of Argentina’s RenovAr programme based on lowest price per unit of energy. The project has signed 20-year power purchase agreements with Cammesa. Total project cost stands at $80 million. The financing includes a $20 million loan from IDB Invest, and another $10 million from the IDB Invest-managed Canadian Climate Fund for the Private Sector of the Americas (C2F). The tenor of the debt is 15 years. Additionally, the project will receive a $20.7 million term loan A from the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Equity contribution amounts to $29.3 million. Financial close was achieved on April 9th, 2018.
