Description

Description

The project consists of the acquisition and installation of a 5G/LTE modem communication system on board the STSherbrooke buses to ensure the proper operation of the transportation network. The acquisition of a system able to communicate with the technological equipment on board STSherbrooke buses (send and receive data) at all times will enable the transit authority to meet “communication in real time” needs and technological challenges it is currently facing. The project completion is scheduled for 2022, with final acceptance in 2023. The implementation of these technological systems on board the STSherbrooke buses contribute to improving the quality of the current public transport network, notably by allowing the transit authority to remotely diagnose a mechanical problem, to update detours to better adapt routes and reduce travel time, and to reload tickets online to improve the customer experience.
