Description

Description

The project consists of the acquisition of a bus driving simulator and the development of a new room in garage number 2 of the Saint-Hubert Exploitation Center of the Réseau de transport de Longueuil (RTL) The room, currently dedicated to a clothing store, will be tailored to accommodate the bus driving simulator. To do this, the room will be divided into two rooms, one of which will be soundproofed and adapted to offer training to the RTL drivers. The driving simulator will allow the drivers to improve their skills in real-time simulation scenarios, as if they were in a moving bus in an urban environment similar to the agglomeration of Longueuil. Through this project, the public transit authority wishes to review its training procedures and techniques in order to reduce the number of bus accidents involving a driver, reduce the number of tickets, increase customer satisfaction and improve the quality of the environment by reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. The project will improve the quality and safety of RTL.
