Description | 1. Further identification of relevant stakeholders for Roma integration at local level and preparations of employment of Roma mediators in the future. Capacity building of the identified young Roma and pro-Roma activists through trainings and fostering up building and empowering of Roma civil society where different Roma groups are involved. Improving equal access of the Roma to mainstream services by informing the Roma people and first and foremost the young Roma activists about the existing opportunities, encouraging them to use available services as well as through training of the young Roma and pro-Roma activists to become future Roma mediators and or/advocates. 2. Rising visibility of the National Roma Integration Council and strengthening its co-operation with local authorities and institutions and Roma people. Awareness rising on Roma history, culture and tradition at all levels. 3. Supporting mutual learning and exchange of best practices between the Baltic States in Roma school mediation and pedagogue’s best practices in teaching Roma children. 4. Provoking and inspiriting multilateral co-operation between the young Roma and Roma women at national level as well as between the Baltic States. Activities 1. Empowering trainings for young Estonian Roma and Roma women (two 2-day trainings for 20 participants) and 2 individual trainings for 3 advanced young Roma, as well as one joint training for the young Roma living in twin city Valga (Estonia)/Valka (Latvia). 2. Consultations of National Roma Integration Council with local authorities and local authority institutions and Roma people (2 on-site meetings). 3. Awareness rising on Roma history and culture and its impact on their socio-economic status. Roma holocaust commemorations, celebration of International Roma Day, translation and creation of relevant materials to be published on Roma Platform’s website, purchasing of necessary statistical data reflecting the socio-economic status of Roma people in Estonia. |
