Objectives Identifying of relevant stakeholders for Roma integration at local level. Preparations for setting up local Roma platforms in municipalities where the Roma live in considerable number. Preparations for employment of roma-mediators in future. Rising visibility of the National Roma Integration Council as national Roma platvorm and establishing co-operation between the Council and local stakeholders. Fostering creation and empowerment of Roma organisations in Estonia, especially Roma youth and Roma women organisations through training and facilities. Ascertaining and fostering young Roma activists to become Roma spokespersons and/or mediators through communicative activities and training on civil society, administrative management, creation and managing of CSOs, project management and communication skills. Activities One kick-off meeting and one closing meeting for project participants. Consultations of the National Roma Integration Council with local authorities and institutions like schools, Unemployment Security Fund etc. To facilitate co-operation between authorities and local Roma comminities (3 on-site meetings). Trainings for roma leaders and young Roma. (four 2-3 day sessions, 2 different individual trainings for 3 persons) Creation of webpage to disseminate information on project activities and good Roma integration practices, as well as material on Roma history, culture , traditions and way of life. Preparation and translation of the materials to be published. Studies to better understand the attitudes and expectations of young Roma (incl Roma women) towards civil society, and assemble the experience and best practice of Estonian comprehensive school pedagogues working/having worked with Roma pupils. Type and number of persons benefiting form the project The main target are the Roma living in Estonia (641 persons) in particular Roma youth. Local public officials, teachers, social workers, NGO workers.
