Activation and Empowerment of Roma Stakeholders by the National Roma Platform II

The project consists of Opening and Closing meetings and 3 meetings in regions. The topic of all these meetings will be the identification of the needs and problems of Roma and the obstacles in implementation of the Strategy of Roma Integration up to 2020, search for possible solutions and recommendations for the possible revision of the Strategy. The minutes and further suggestions from these meetings will serve as material for monitoring of the Strategy of Roma Integration up to 2020 and the Report on the State of the Roma Minority in the Czech Republic for previous year. Two-day course for training lecturers of subsequent courses on increasing competences in the area of community work and its principles and strengthening soft skills in the area of negotiation and advocating Roma interests for Roma leaders and representatives of Roma NGOs will take place. Document “Rules and principles of community work” will be prepared by experienced lecturers and will serve as support material for the trained lecturers, as well as the general public. Then, 4 one-day courses on increasing competences in the area of community work and its principles and strengthening soft skills in the area of negotiation and advocating Roma interests for Roma leaders and representatives of Roma NGOs will take place which will be led by the aforementioned trained lecturers. After the courses, the experienced lecturers will provide follow-up support to the participant of the courses to give them assistance in community work and promoting the interests of Roma. Besides, 2 one-day courses of functioning of local partnership of Agency for Social Inclusion will take place. The employees of the Agency for Social Inclusion will be responsible for leading these courses, the primary aim of which is to make the participants aware of the importance of local partnerships, engaging in them and defending the interests of Roma in them. Final document will summarize the outputs of the project.
