BreakDance is an innovative initiative aimed at promoting healthy lifestyles and cultural appreciation among primary school children. By integrating dance as a dynamic form of physical activity, the project leverages online learning methods and peer-led instruction from local dance clubs to make movement-based education engaging, inclusive, and accessible. Rooted in European health and education guidelines, BreakDance not only encourages active lifestyles but also increases the visibility of local dance clubs and coaches within school and community settings. The consortium, comprising partners from Croatia and Bulgaria, brings extensive expertise in dance education and community engagement, while Smart NEST contributes cutting-edge IT solutions to support the project’s digital learning components. Together, they emphasize the need for a unified EU-wide approach to promote physical activity, digital innovation, and cultural exchange in education. The project is structured around three key objectives: (1) Promoting physical activity and encouraging healthy lifestyles among school children, (2) Developing engaging online educational content, and (3) Organizing dance events in schools to foster social interaction and intercultural learning. To achieve these goals, BreakDance aims to: Engage at least 50 children in structured dance classes (minimum 25 per partner organization). Develop and upload a minimum of five instructional dance videos covering various dance styles, ensuring accessibility in multiple languages (English, Croatian, and Bulgarian). Organize at least four virtual dance events during the project, involving active participation from at least four schools per country. By integrating digital learning with interactive dance programs, BreakDance seeks to embed dance-based physical activity into school curricula, fostering lifelong engagement in movement, cultural awareness, and community integration.
