Description

Description

"It is commonly agreed that green transition will bring changes to the way we live, move and work. We need well-designed policies to fully realise its employment and social potential. A fair transition towards climate neutrality in the Union by 2050 will ensure that no one is left behind, in particular people and households most dependent on fossil fuels and most affected by the green transition, and notably those already in vulnerable situations. This project, "" Active cities -Fair cities,"" aligns with the CERV call (CERV-2025-CITIZENS-TOWN-NT) and aims to empower citizens, particularly young people, women, minorities and EU mobile citizens, to actively shape the fair transition in their communities. Recognising the interconnectedness of social inclusion and climate action, this initiative will share best practices, test innovative approaches, and explore new avenues for participation in fair transition policymaking. Building on existing successful partnerships, the project will foster dialogue among diverse stakeholders, addressing potential barriers and promoting cross-border cooperation to build a more inclusive and sustainable Europe. Furthermore, it seeks to strengthen the role of citizens and civil society organisations in local, regional, and European policymaking related to fair transition, contributing to the broader debate on the future of Europe."
