Description

Description

From the one hand the spread of COVID-19 represented an unprecedented challenge for humanity. While there is danger that the crisis will deepen inequalities and hit poorer communities to a disproportionate extent, it also presents an opportunity to realize that we are all in this together and to gather our resources to common purpose. It is necessary to consolidate democracy and to participate actively in political life to claim our rights to improve past situations and to create a better future for us and future generations. The project aims to making people understand that social actions:1. bring together people, organizations and networks to foster wellbeing for the wider community and those who might otherwise be marginalized, 2. empower people to influence the decisions which affect their lives, 3. enhance people’s knowledge and perception of the political, social, and economic context of their participation so that they can make informed decisions, 4. enable people challenge existing structures. Participants will be informed about the EU Charter on Fundamental Rights and its application through workshops, seminars, and study visits. In that way they will be more active in a local, regional, and European level. Democratic processes are disappearing in many areas of political and social life. Therefore, social policies are focusing more and more on the circumstances and effects of active social lives, essentially encouraging the active participation of young people while they are the next generation. Citizens in the EU, being discouraged by the development of democratic institutions, and especially young people, have limited active political participation. It is important for citizens to understand that their actions and their voices can be taken seriously by their representatives. It is important for people, and especially young people, to get involved in issues related to education, environment, culture, equality, and social acceptance.
