Active minds strong hearts: Athletics for kids

The main aim of the “Active minds strong hearts: Athletics for kids” project is to enhance the mental well-being of at least 80 children aged 6-12, who have been impacted by natural disasters and disadvantaged children, by promoting active engagement in sports, aiming to achieve a 20% improvement within a 15-month timeframe. This goal will be pursued through the collaboration of 4 partners including across 3 countries, facilitating the development of a comprehensive toolkit encompassing fun athletics, aimed at achieving measurable and impactful outcomes. Disasters experienced; The post-earthquakes, floods, forest fires and post-epidemic events that have taken over the world have left many of us facing challenges that can be stressful, overwhelming, causing strong emotions in adults and children, and the ongoing political problems in Europe. Public health actions such as social distancing have resulted in a massive increase in these natural disasters around the world in recent years, leaving also feeling isolated and lonely, and stress and anxiety also increasing, especially for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. In the project we clarified specific target group according to the need of partner and these are going to be: Romani Godi: With Roma children living in Turkey, especially in Istanbul and surrounding provinces KARGENÇ KULÜBÜ: Children of seasonal agricultural workers (economically and socially disadvantaged) who have a dense population in Sakarya IRSiE; With Ukrainian refugee children who have received intense migration after the Ukrainian War and live in Warsaw 6tma ASSOCIACIÓ: With children living in Catolonia and exposed to flood disaster and disadvantaged kids
