The project ‘Active Youth in EU Cultural Activities’ focuses on the value of social and cultural volunteering of young people as a fundamental pillar for the growth of communities. Civic engagement contributes to social cohesion and preserves and disseminates local culture and traditions, elements that define the identity of each territory, which together form the foundation of a common European future. The project is presented by the Municipality of Bastia Umbra (Italy) with n.7 other Partners Organisations from Spain. Albania, Hungary and France in order to realise International Events of encounter between citizens of different European countries with activities of exchange and comparison on the richness of the EU cultural heritage expressed by cultural activities. The project realises opportunities to: - build the Active.Youth International Network of Cities to dialogue, share, collaborate, creating opportunities for cooperation with widespread long-term impact (Collaboration Pact) - improve the knowledge of the different organisational forms of active citizenship aimed at the protection and promotion of territorial heritage, in particular related to rural, internal and peripheral areas - foster the exchange of ideas, experiences and practices able to identify effective mechanisms for the engagement of young people (age 18-30) in the realisation of cultural initiatives (Video Story Telling -Documentary of opinions and stories) - to co-design new integrated strategic approaches and innovative operational methods to raise young people's awareness of the importance of democratic participation and their motivation to co-organise events to enhance and promote their local heritage - stimulate the application of circular subsidiarity models capable of fostering the development of personal and professional growth opportunities for young people and at the same time give back the results of their civic and voluntary commitment in the community (Youth Engagement Charter)
