ACU Student Housing Expansion

under construction

Abilene Christian University (ACU) is expanding its student housing capacity in response to a rental crisis in Abilene, Texas. The university is reopening a former residence hall previously slated for demolition to accommodate over 65 students. Additionally, construction is underway on a new apartment-style complex expected to add 151 beds across four buildings, with move-ins anticipated in January 2027. Furthermore, ACU plans to break ground later in the summer on another 250-bed apartment development north of campus, which would add roughly 400 new beds over the next year. The university is also exploring the possibility of adding a hotel near campus for prospective students and their families, as well as the public.
