This project comprises the development of the Tashkent Riverside Solar and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in the Tashkent region of Uzbekistan. The project encompasses the design, construction, and operation of a 200 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) plant and a 500 MWh BESS under "Build, Own, Operate, Transfer" mode for a 25-year period. The project is expected to generate enough energy to power approximately 170,000 households. Sponsor for this initiative is Saudi Arabia's ACWA Power and is executed by ACWA Power Riverside Solar LLC, a special purpose vehicle established in Uzbekistan. Total project cost is $533 million, of which $386 million is financed through a consortium of lenders, including the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) - with $183.5 million contribution, Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), DEG, Proparco, Standard Chartered, and KfW-IPEX Bank.
