ADA Upgrades Along Eastern Parkway

The New York City Department of Transportation is planning ADA-compliant improvements along Eastern Parkway between Schenectady and Ralph Avenues in Crown Heights. The upgrades include redesigned B14 bus stops at Utica and Buffalo Avenues, new pedestrian ramps, smoother paving with granite and hex blocks, relocation of existing informal B14 bus stops to southern pedestrian malls, removal of the stop at Rochester Avenue, addition of new accessible stops at Utica and Buffalo, moving one young tree, replacing small grassy areas with granite pavers, and new ADA ramps connecting northern malls at key intersections. The proposal maintains current turn bays and preserves most green space with minor layout changes east of Buffalo Avenue.
