Description | The Adani Dhirauli coal mining project is a captive coal mine located in the Singrauli coalfield of Madhya Pradesh, India. It covers approximately 2,672 hectares and is operated by Stratatech Mineral Resources Private Limited, linked to the Adani Group. The mine is designed to produce 6.5 million tonnes per annum (5 MTPA open-cast and 1.5 MTPA underground) to supply coal exclusively to Mahan Energen, a subsidiary of Adani Power. The project has received Stage-II forest clearance for diversion of about 1,397.54 hectares of forest land and state government approval. Legal challenges against the project were dismissed on procedural grounds, allowing the project to proceed. |
