The project is a 1,600 MW power plant, the country's first stand-alone power plant designated as a Special Economic Zone (SEZ), with coal expected to be imported from Australia and electricity exported to Bangladesh. Over 1,000 acres of land spanning 10 villages were acquired for the plant. |
