ADAPT (Africa Digital Access and Public Infrastructure for Trade) is an interoperability framework designed to enable seamless communication between fragmented national trade systems across Africa without requiring replacement of existing infrastructure. The initiative aims to facilitate cross-border trade by creating digital and regulatory sandboxes to test use cases, identify legal bottlenecks, and develop standards. Kenya, Morocco, and Nigeria have been selected as pilot countries to lead the implementation phase, with plans to establish Country Implementation Forums by the end of June to guide the process. The project is supported by the World Economic Forum and the International Chamber of Commerce's Digital Standards Initiative.
