Adaptive Reuse of Abandoned Pump Station into Loftlike Waterfront Home

The project involved the restoration and adaptive reuse of an abandoned pump station built in the late 1890s in Norridgewock, Maine. The pump station, originally part of a hydro plant that powered the community, was transformed into a 1,400 square foot loftlike waterfront home by photographer and designer Mandy Lamb. The restoration included removing lead paint, restoring original windows, rewiring and plumbing, laying radiant heating, pouring a new concrete floor, and preserving industrial features while creating an open and airy living space.
