Adaptive Safety Net

The proposed project will support the government in strengthening its adaptive social protection system by (i) supporting the continuous consolidation and improvement of the core elements of Senegal’s safety net system; (ii) supporting the delivery of regular cash transfers and productive programs to the chronic poor; (iii) supporting shock-responsive assistance to poor and vulnerable households and (iv) providing institutional support and capacity building for the social protection sector. The project will include a Contingency Emergency Response Component (CERC) that can be used to respond to states of emergency due to any large covariate shock, reallocating funds from other components.
