Addition of two accessible vehicles to meet growing specialized transit ridership demand

Expansion of the care-A-van fleet in order to provide expanded services to the town and to address compliance issues resulting from Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) legislation. AODA standards will require increased service hours and reduced wait and booking times. The net result will be a need for additional vehicles to accommodate demand and ensure legislative compliance. It is anticipated that demand for this specialized service will increase significantly over the next ten years. Specialized transit buses also provide for shared ride opportunities not available through use of contracted taxis. Two additional buses will be purchased.
