Description
Description | The proposed AF from the Green Climate Fund Colling Facility of US$4.25 million to the Damal Caafimaad project will promote adoption and use of climate friendly cooling equipment and appliances in the health sector and strengthen cold chain capacity necessary for expanding the delivery of maternal and child health services, especially immunization. The Damal Caafimaad project is financed by a US$100.0 million grant. It was approved on June 28, 2021, and became effective on December 30, 2021. During appraisal of the parent project, US$7.0 million was earmarked to support project activities in Somaliland. However, the detailed activities and implementation arrangements including fiduciary arrangements and environmental and social framework (ESF) requirements were not defined at the time. These are defined in the project paper as part of the AF to ensure project activities in Somaliland are in line with the project objectives and components. The AF retains the original four components: (1) Expanding the coverage of high-impact health and nutrition services in select geographic areas; (2) Strengthening Government’s stewardship to enhance service delivery; (3) Project Management and Knowledge Management and Learning; and (4) a Contingency Emergency Response Component (CERC). |
