The GoE requested the World Bank’s support to improve the equity, integration and sustainability of selected social assistance programs administered by MIES. This implied updating the Social Registry database that contained information on vulnerable households. This proposed Additional Financing aims to respond to the GoE’s request to implement measures to guarantee the dynamism of the social registry; to increase coverage of child services as a tool for the reduction of chronic child malnutrition (DCI for its Spanish acronym); and to generate evidence to design a sustainable economic inclusion strategy for youth and women in a post COVID-19 recovery phase. The AF will finance: (i) the consolidation of a new institutional model (Modelo de Actualizacion Permanente, MAP) to make the social registry more dynamic and integrated with other large national administrative databases; and (ii) activities aiming at reducing CCM in 728 prioritized parroquias (parishes), by closing existing care and health service gaps.
