Description

The Project will provide resources to support Uganda's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. It builds upon ongoing support related to outbreak prevention, detection and response. The Project includes critical interventions around disease surveillance, case management, psycho social support, and laboratory capacity strengthening. Interventions are aligned with the national COVID-19 preparedness and response plan, but are also targeted towards interventions that will strengthen core public health functions more generally and help Uganda better confront future outbreaks. The Additional Financing to the Project, focuses primarily on scaling up Uganda's COVID-19 vaccination program, as well as strengthening the provision of COVID-19 and broader health services to refugees and refugee hosting districts.
