Description | The project aims to improve the capacity to prevent oil disasters in the project implementation area as well as to improve prevention readiness. A permanent co-operative network will be created which helps to develop and improve the protection of the sea environment in the Gulf of Finland, the archipelago, the coast and waters adjacent to the coast. Preventative measures in maritime safety will also be developed and improved. Extra finance will be directed to training and to assist participation in an international seminar which will be arranged in autumn 2007. In addition, it will be investigated in co-operation with the Finland – Russia Interreg Program how real time information about winds and currents can be integrated into the software of the centre. |
