Description | The Admiral Nakhimov, a Kirov-Class nuclear-powered battlecruiser of the Russian Navy, has undergone extensive modernization and repair work since 1999, with major upgrades starting in 2013. The ship has been fitted with new weapon systems including Zircon hypersonic missiles, Kalibr, and Onyx cruise missiles, significantly increasing its striking power. After nearly three decades out of service, it has returned to sea for factory sea trials and testing in the White Sea and Barents Sea. |
