Adult Education Survey (AES) 2022 – Statistical Infrastructure under IESS

Regulation (EU) 2019/1700 of the European Parliament and of the Council sets the new framework for European social statistics collected from sample surveys as from 2021. Under this framework, the domain ‘education and training’ refers to the Adult Education Survey (AES). The AES provides comprehensive data on the participation of the individuals in education and training and therefore is an important and one of the main data sources for EU lifelong learning statistics. The 2022 AES follows up the three previous waves of the survey implemented in Slovakia: 2007 AES, 2011 AES and 2016 AES. The general aim of the project is to ensure continuity of the 2022 AES survey, good quality data and comparability across the Europe by methodological work based on requirements in IESS regulation (EU) 2019/1700 and experiences from AES 2016. Results of the project will be used for improvement of the national questionnaire form, the fieldwork and overall data quality AES 2022. From the project will benefit all EU countries as comparable data with better quality across the EU are going to be reached. Realisation of the AES 2022 fieldwork is planned from July 2022 to November 2022 (including).
