Description

Description

"""Adult Learning and Education: From Communities to Competitiveness (ComComp)"" will support EAEA’s Work Plan 2026 – 2027, ensuring that EAEA’s activities are impactful and contributing to the European Education Area, the European Union of Skills, the Competitiveness Compass and transversal EU values. EAEA links adult learning (ALE) practice with policy, stakeholder engagement and capacity building. We bring the voice of the local, regional and national levels to the EU level, building networks with key stakeholders at different levels, collecting good practice and informing EAEA’s policy work. Through our policy awareness-raising work, we create added value for all our target groups and promote participation in ALE. The thematic priorities chosen by EAEA are highly relevant for the European Union and European non-EU countries. In the 2026 theme, Resilience and Community-building, our members will be encouraged to connect with upskilling initiatives, basic skills and local community hubs to explore the role of ALE for an inclusive and competitive future. In the 2027 theme, Global and Local ALE Heritage, EAEA’s members will connect with international partners, build common values and develop civic cooperation starting with a common understanding of values in ALE and democracy. A new edition of the EAEA Country Reports will provide a civil society perspective on key developments in ALE in European countries, thereby informing policy-makers and contributing to the EU Semester. EAEA's specific objectives for 2026 - 2027 are: Ensuring EAEA’s operational capacity and transparency through good management and coordination; Supporting EAEA’s members and ALE stakeholders in building resilient and inclusive learning communities; Providing policy monitoring, analysis and awareness-raising about ALE policies, strategies and initiatives; Ensuring Effective Outreach & Stakeholder Engagement; and Increasing EAEA’s efficiency in information sharing and dissemination of results."
