Indian Railways has successfully completed pilot testing of the Advanced Kavach Automatic Train Protection (ATP) signalling system designed to prevent train collisions and reduce human error. The system uses radio communication, GPS tracking, and onboard electronics to enforce speed restrictions and automatically apply brakes if necessary. The pilot test was conducted on the Delhi–Agra section and was successful, leading to plans for phased deployment across 3,000 km of high-priority rail corridors, eventually covering over 34,000 km of track.
