Description
Description | Attacks on Jewish communities are on the rise. In order to protect these communities, this project will use a three-pronged approach: - A smarter and more efficient approach to threat detection, giving pride of place to the input of Jewish communities themselves - Clear and concrete guidelines for threat response within Jewish communities, taking into account the rich variety within Jewish communities. - Enhancing understanding between law enforcement agencies and Jewish communities, ensuring that both parties understand each other's organization, practices and social context. This project aims to ensure that the right data is readily available to law enforcement agencies in order to protect Jewish communities. Law enforcement agencies are sitting on a mountain of data which is difficult to structure efficiently, leading to missing vital intelligence or data patterns. Input from Jewish communities is also not integrated enough into the data ecosystem. The project aims to construct a digital microservice aimed at integrating different information streams. This generic microservice will be able to be plugged into national law enforcement agencies data architecture across Europe. Moreover, smart cameras informed by artificial intelligence will be set up in three living labs across Europe in order to detect violent behavior automatically. For threat response, a threat matrix will be constructed for the different threats faced by Jewish communities. The threat matrix will be linked to crisis management plans, which will provide templates for acting according to the different types of threats. Close cooperation between Jewish communities and law enforcement agencies will lead to tailor-made plans for dealing with threats in Jewish communities. All of the above will be tested in two real-life trainings. Finally, we will focus on improving mutual understanding between law enforcement agencies and Jewish communities as to each other's practices via two train the trainer sessions involving Jewish and law enforcement agency trainers. It is only on this basis that closer cooperation can be built. |
