“Advancing Digital Education” has set the ambitious aim to support the implementation of the European-wide Digital Education Action Plan (2021-2027), reinforce European higher education and contribute to the geopolitical dimension of the European Education Area (EEA). The mission of EDEN is to shape the future of digital education in Europe by serving the needs of institutional and individual members through providing a network for collaboration and professional learning, acting as a platform for creating and sharing research-informed knowledge, advocating for open, inclusive and sustainable policies and practices at all levels. This will be achieved by building a strong community of practice, by organising free online events open to anyone, anywhere, anytime, by publishing the latest research results in digital education and pedagogy and sharing the benefits of using digital tools in 21st century classrooms. These activities will connect experienced researchers with educational practitioners and young scholars to achieve a transformative change in using digital tools at all levels of education. 3 new influential ad hoc activities will be added in 2023-25: EDEN Digital Education Leadership Academy for education leaders willing to lead their institutions to a digital transformation, EDEN Digital Education Masterclass on the topic of high political relevance and a series of EDEN Digital Education Policy papers. A major contribution is international Annual Conferences focusing on digitalisation of education in Europe, a Research Workshop, free webinars of annual European Digital Learning Week (EDLW) and Open Education Week (OEW), EDEN NAP webinars and two open online academic publications, four PhD Symposia, several EDEN awards and hundreds of issued digital badges will support scholars. Key stakeholders will benefit from these activities, including the K12, HE, VET and adult education sectors, supporting the vision of advancing digital education.
