Description

Description

GREENSEA aims to modernise sustainability education in Southeast Asia (SEA) by fostering collaboration between European and SEA higher education institutions (HEIs). The project directly addresses gaps in green skills and education, ensuring alignment with the European Green Deal (EGD) and UN Sustainable Development Goals 4, 7, 17 (quality education, affordable and clean energy and partnerships for the goals). The project will achieve its objectives through curriculum modernisation, capacity building, digital education enhancements, and international collaboration. It will integrate Green Deal principles into MSc programs, train faculty in sustainable education, and develop digital learning platforms tailored to SEA’s needs. Joint research initiatives, student and staff mobility programs, and partnerships with industry stakeholders will further strengthen knowledge exchange and workforce readiness in key sectors such as renewable energy, circular economy, and environmental management. Some concrete outputs: (1) modernised curriculum: increased green deal content 50%, (2) enhanced digital learning platforms at 8 SEA HEIs with minimum 10 digital course update, (2) 100+ staff benefit from training, (3) 100+ student and staff mobility (onsite and virtual), (4) 100+ individuals with barriers and 200+ students benefit from the project, (5) 10+ peer-reviewed publications from joint research initiatives, and (6) an alumni and research collaboration network for continued EU-SEA cooperation. GREENSEA’s impact will be transformative, creating long-term capacity for SEA HEIs to become sustainability leaders. The project will contribute to policy development, enhance employability in green industries, and establish lasting EU-SEA cooperation. By embedding sustainability education into institutional frameworks, GREENSEA ensures a scalable and enduring impact, equipping graduates with the skills needed for a climate-resilient and sustainable future.
