Description | Objective: Advance intersex equality and rights in the EU, incl. protection from IGM and discrimination; contribute to development and implementation of resp. policy and laws; strengthen capacity of intersex NGOs to effectively engage with policy-makers; raise awareness about intersex people and families; enable policy and law makers, equality and monitoring bodies, NGOs, professionals and employers to work towards comprehensive protection and acceptance of intersex people; enhance OII Europe’s impact and sustainability; represent the diversity of the intersex community; build strategic alliances Activities: engage with EU and national policy and law makers; policy proposals/submission to relevant policy/legal initiatives/court procedures on EU and national level; foster exchange between intersex civil society and policy makers; disseminate good practice; public campaigning; capacity building of intersex NGOs; training of professionals on intersex issues; making relevant material available across European languages; foster development of the European intersex community; internal diversity mainstreaming; diversification of funding Beneficiaries: EU and national policy makers and institutions, equality bodies, intersex people and families, professionals, equality NGOs Expected results: Enhanced capacity of policy-makers and other stakeholders to effectively advance intersex equality and rights in their work; enhanced protection against IGM and discrimination through adoption and implementation of laws/policies; strengthened dialogue between civil society and policy makers; increased ability of intersex NGOs to act upon EU legislation/policies at national level; strong alliances with current and new allies; greater public awareness on intersex issues; enhanced sustainability of OII Europe and its members Outputs: policy briefs; Good Practice Map; toolkits; infographics; translations; thematic seminars and skill-building trainings; Community Event & Conference |
