Objective: Advance equality of intersex people in the EU incl. protection from harmful practices (IGM) & discrimination on the grounds of sex characteristics; advance protection of fundamental rights of intersex people; raise awareness about intersectional discrimination of intersex people, incl. on the ground of age, gender, disability, ethnic background or other; combat intersexphobic hate speech, contribute to development & implementation of resp. policy & laws; raise awareness about intersex people and families; support policy & law makers, equality bodies, NGOs, employers and other stakeholders to analyze and address protection gaps; strengthen capacity of intersex NGOs to increase involvement in governmental policy- and decision-making processes; develop OII Europe network; build strategic alliances Activities: engage with EU & national policy and law makers; submit to relevant policy/legal initiatives/court procedures on EU/national level; capacity building of intersex NGOs; foster mutual training & cross-country good practice exchange between intersex civil society; training professionals; making information available in European languages; further develop OII E internal monitoring & diversity mainstreaming; diversification of funding Beneficiaries: EU and national policy makers & institutions, equality bodies, intersex NGOs, professionals, equality NGOs, intersex people Expected results: Enhanced capacity of stakeholders to effectively advance intersex equality and rights; enhanced protection against IGM & discrimination through adoption and implementation of laws/policies; strengthened dialogue between civil society and policy makers; increased ability of intersex NGOs to use democratic mechanisms; strong & diverse alliances; greater public awareness on intersex issues; enhanced sustainability of OII Europe Outputs: policy briefs; Good Practice Map; educational toolkits & training modules; infographics; translations; Community Event & Conference
