Description

In January 2011, Ositran signed the 25-year concession contract with Aeropuertos Andinos, a consortium comprised of Andino Investment Holding [Peru] and Corporacion America [Argentina], to finance, expand and operate a package of six existing regional airports in the south of Peru. Exact shareholding was not publically available, but was presented as each sponsor having an equal stake in the project. The sponsors were to be responsible for maintaining and/or upgrading the airports to international standards stipulated in the concession contract. Project investment was estimated at US $257 million. In September 2010, the concessionaire won the project via a competitive tender projects by requesting the lowest amount of government payments US $76 million. The tender launched by federal private investment promotion agency Proinversion. There were three final bids. In addition to government payment, the concessioniare's revenues were to come through airport fees and retail sales at the terminals.
