Description

"This project involves the renewal of the Aeropuertos Dominicanos Concession, led by Vinci Airports through its subsidiary, Aeropuertos Dominicanos Siglo XXI (AERODOM). The sponsor operates six airports across the Dominican Republic: Las Américas International Airport in Punta Caucedo (Santo Domingo province), Aeropuerto Internacional Joaquín Balaguer (Santo Domingo province), Gregorio Luperón International Airport (Puerto Plata province), María Montez International Airport (Barahona province), Samaná El Catey International Airport (Samaná province), and Arroyo Barril Airport (Samaná province). The funds will be allocated to meet the obligations outlined in the Renewed and Reformed Concession Contract enacted in December 2023. Key commitments include airport upgrades, notably the construction of a new terminal at Las Américas International Airport, José Francisco Peña Gómez, in Santo Domingo. The total project cost is $2080 million, of which $1250m will be paid to the Dominican state by VINCI Airports' subsidiary Aerodom - $775m upfront payment and $475m at financial close. The sponsor company secured the amount of $940 million comprising a $500 million global bond issuance and a $440 million credit agreement that will cover the upfront payments to the Government. The credit facilities were arranged by Banco Popular Dominicano, Banco Latinoamericano de Comercio Exterior, New York Agency, Citigroup Global Markets Inc., JPMorgan Chase Bank, Popular Bank LTD. INC., and The Bank of Nova Scotia. The bond placement was coordinated by JPMorgan, Citigroup, and Scotiabank. A total of $830 million will be invested in airport infrastructure over the concession period, including $250m allocated for the construction of a new terminal in Santo Domingo. Financial close is scheduled for July 22, 2024." https://en.newsroom.vinci-airports.com/news/vinci-airports-and-the-government-of-the-dominican-republic-extend-airport-concession-contract-for-30-additional-years-5b92-46ae7.html ; https://x.realfin.com/transaction/255334/aeropuertos-dominicanos-renewed-concession-2024 ; https://dominicantoday.com/dr/local/2024/07/22/aerodom-secures-940-million-financing-for-airport-improvements/ ; https://www.squirepattonboggs.com/en/news/2024/07/squire-patton-boggs-advises-underwriters-and-lenders-in-dominican-airports-940-million-financing-transaction
