Description | AES Levant Holdings BV Jordan Psc was a joint venture between AES, the US based power project sponsor/developer, and the Japanese firm Mitsusi. The AES diesel plant was a 240 MW, tri-fuel enabled power facility which was expected to use mostly diesel fuel for the purposes of power generation. The project was to be located close to the capital Amman and was the second IPP project for the Mitsui & AES joint venture in Jordan. The project entered into a 25 year PPA with the Jordanian National Electric Power Company (NEPCO), with operations expected to commence in 2014. Total project cost was stated by Mitsui as USD 350 million, with 270 million of debt financing from the US OPIC.
