The African Atlantic Gas Pipeline is designed to link Nigeria to Morocco, stretching nearly 6,900 kilometers across 13 countries along Africa's west coast. The Moroccan segment represents a $25 billion investment, spanning 2,220 kilometers with 1,830 kilometers onshore and 390 kilometers offshore. It includes four compressor stations near Boujdour, Tan-Tan, Agadir, and Safi, two receiving stations, and six temporary camps for construction support. The offshore section runs through Moroccan waters from the Mauritanian maritime border to the Dakhla area. The pipeline is designed for a 40-year operating life, with construction scheduled to begin after a final investment decision anticipated by the end of 2026, and commercial operations projected to start in the second quarter of 2031.
