Description
Description | A four-year project funded by the Australian Forest and Wood Innovations (AFWI) Centre for Sustainable Futures to develop prefabricated small-footprint dwellings from plantation thinnings and out-of-grade pine. The project aims to create bio-based sandwich panels and roundwood framing systems for secondary dwellings, tiny homes, granny flats, sheds, carports, and hybrid liveable sheds. It targets a $57 million timber market opportunity and supports regional economies with off-site prefabrication or DIY flat-pack assembly for rapid deployment in disaster-affected and remote communities. |
