Description | Amea Power is working on the expansion of the Agadir desalination plant in Morocco to increase its capacity to 400,000 cubic metres per day. Additionally, Amea Power will develop a 150 MW wind project in Laayoune to power the desalination plant. The expansion is part of the second phase of the project, following the first phase developed by the Spanish company Cox. The total investment for the second phase and the associated wind power facility is expected to exceed €250 million ($290 million). The desalination expansion is expected to be operational by the end of 2026, with the wind farm coming online in 2027. |
