In line with Art. 10 and 19 TFEU and Art. 21 of the EU Charter of FR we will seek to promote equality, non-discrimination and human rights of older persons, protect their socio-economic rights and support dignity in old age. Our aims: Improve understanding of ageism and challenges related to demographic ageing among new MEPs, EU Commissioners and upcoming EU Presidencies. Better coordinated policy agendas at EU/CoE/UN to enhance human rights in old age. Increased capacity of AGE members to combat multiple forms of discrimination and promote equality at all ages. We will empower older citizens as self-advocates and connect them with relevant actors to build a collective project to turn the EU’s demographic challenge into an opportunity to achieve fair, inclusive, equitable and sustainable communities in all EU Member States.; Contribute to the implementation and enhancement of EU/UN/CoE laws and initiatives ensuring equality and social justice at all ages; Build synergies between EU/UN/CoE actions/policy debates/frameworks on human rights to bring coherence in the various initiatives proposed to respond to Europe’s demographic challenge in a context of climate change. Target groups: our 106 member-organisations, their 58 representatives in AGE Council, 320 Task Forces members; 40 million seniors represented by our members and 200 million persons aged 50+ in the EU; Anyone interested to combat ageism and multiple discrimination Deliverables: +/-25 policy papers to contribute to key EU/UN/CoE debates on age discrimination, impact of socioeconomic policies on older persons’ rights and age-friendly environments; 1 annual conference organised with our German member and support of the DE Presidency; 1 event with EDF on intersection of age/disability discrimination; 1 workshop to agree common definition of ageism; edition of AGE Barometer on the situation of older persons in the EU; +/-200 web/blog articles, 11 newsletters, 4 training tools; 2 campaigns
