Agent Orange Soil Remediation Project in Vietnam

A Belgian company, Haemers Technologies, specializing in sustainable soil remediation, has been granted permission by the Vietnamese government to clean up land contaminated with Agent Orange. The project initially involves remediating an area of 1 square kilometre, expected to take four years, with more undertakings to follow. The remediation uses a heating process to evaporate contamination, capturing and incinerating the vapors. The Belgian impact fund Aquitara is financing the works and will develop the granted land into industrial zones to generate returns. Additionally, micro-grocery shops will be financed for around 100 families affected by Agent Orange.
