Aggreko Luanda Temporary Power Stations 1 and 2

In 2008, the two Aggreko 30MW Luanda Temporary Power Station 1 and 2 started supplying electricity to Luanda. Empresa Nacional de Electricidade (ENE) awarded the Luanda Temporary Power projects 1 and 2 under a rental contract to Aggreko in September 2007. The duration of the contract was not publicly available. Aggreko estimated the value of the contract to US$30 million. These two temporary power plants complemented three existing temporary power stations: the Aggreko Caminhos de Ferro de Angola (30MW) and the Aggreko Cabinda First (30MW) and Second (30MW) Temporary Power Station. As of June 2011, the power plant was still operational. (Aggreko was having trouble getting the Empresa Nacional d'Angola, ENA, to pay for the lease of several generators, concerning several months of an annual contract worth several tens of millions of dollars.)
