The objective of the Agricultural Innovation and Services Project is to strengthen the National Institute for Agricultural and Forestry Research Innovation (INIAF) and Bolivia's Agricultural and Forestry Innovation System (SNIAF) in order to contribute to productivity growth, food security, sustainable rural development and the income-earning potential of Bolivian families dependent on agriculture and forestry. The Project is made of four components. Component One strengthens the National Agricultural and Forestry Innovation System (SNIAF), by developing policies, strategies and governance of the SNIAF, and the coordination and management of a research fund on eco-regional and climate change issues. Component two strengthens INIAF's core activities, by the improvement of INIAF's research and INIAF's core research capacity, the improvement of INIAF's provision and coordination of technical assistance, the consolidation of the national seed system, and the management of national genetic resources. Component three supports INIAF's institutional development, by improving the organizational and technical capacities of INIAF and the development of INIAF's external leadership and collaboration capacities. Component four is project management.
