Agrivoltaics Solar Grazing Project at University of Minnesota Morris

This project involves the integration of solar panels elevated above pastures to allow simultaneous grazing of livestock and solar energy production. The system has been in place since 2017 and aims to reduce heat stress in cows by providing shade, while also growing nutritious forage under the panels. The project explores the benefits and challenges of agrivoltaics, including livestock management and crop production under solar panels.
