Agua Negra Pass International Tunnel Structuring Program

The program's objective is to contribute to the structuring and preparation of the Agua Negra Pass international tunnel construction project, the aims of which are to improve border integration between Argentina and Chile and expand the region's access to international markets through the Coquimbo–San Juan–Porto Alegre interoceanic corridor (paragraph 1.19). The program's specific objectives are to support the countries in conducting a successful bidding process for the contract to design and build the Agua Negra Pass international tunnel, and in completing the tunnel's engineering designs. These objectives will be achieved through the financing of technical studies, specialized technical assistance, and institutional strengthening of the Argentine Highway Administration (DNV), the Chilean Highway Administration (DVC), and the Agua Negra International Tunnel Agency (EBITAN) (paragraph 1.20).
