In December 2014, the Brazilian company Nascente do Xingu, a subsidiary of AEGEA Saneamento e Participações (Grupo Equipav), was awarded the 30-year concession contract to expand, rehabilitate and operate the water and sewerage facilities of Buritis, located at the state of Rondonia. Description | In December 2014, the Brazilian company Nascente do Xingu, a subsidiary of AEGEA Saneamento e Participações (Grupo Equipav), was awarded the 30-year concession contract to expand, rehabilitate and operate the water and sewerage facilities of Buritis, located at the state of Rondonia. The contract was awarded by the municipality, and the investments were expected to benefit around 32,383 people. Information on the bidding criteria and on the names of other bidders was not available. The contract was signed in March 2015, and the private sponsor took over the operations of the water and sewerage services in May 2015. The special purpose company Aguas de Buritis was set to lead the project. The total investment in the project was estimated at US$ million (BRL 78 million). |
